Enriching maths teaching and learning
Previously we’ve published blogs about literature for Statistics and Probability, and Number and Algebra. This blog completes the set (but, by no means, exhausts the list) of literature teachers can use to support their teaching of maths.
Today’s list supports the strand of Measurement and Geometry.
While I was researching for this post I also came across this comprehensive list of children's books which explore mathematical concepts—check this out too!
I hope the suggestions we’ve given prove useful. I’m thinking that something linking art and craft to maths may also be needed at a later date. Maths is not my favourite teaching area but when you add literature and art and craft—that makes it a ‘different kettle of fish’!
