Saturday, 13 August is the day for celebrating left-handedness!
While left-handed people have to deal with the frustration of living in a predominantly right-handed world, there are a few advantages enjoyed by this small percentage of the population.
Here is some great trivia to share with left-handers (or for the left-handers to brag about!):
- Left-handers are more likely to excel in creative and visual arts. Some well-known left-handers who highlight this include Leonardo Da Vinci, Michelangelo, Picasso and Beethoven!
- Left-handedness gives an advantage in a variety of sports, including boxing, tennis and cricket.
- Left-handers adjust more easily to seeing underwater.
